The Radisson Hotel at the Rochester Airport, 175 Jefferson Road, Rochester, New York 14623. This is the hotel we had the early Astronomicons at before we moved to downtown Rochester. We've gone from modest $6.00 a day parking to free parking. One of the good things is that there is a heated indoor pool. They have a state of the art fitness center, free broadband access, and the rooms all have sleep number beds!! One of the drawbacks to the downtown hotel was that there was very little in the way of restaurants after 5pm. We are right next to Rochester Institute of Technology, and in the last year they have opened up a "collegetown" called Park Point. There is a huge Barnes and Noble, pizza joint, irish pub, asian food and convience mart. So you will have a variety of restaurants to choose from. Now the real information you want about the hotel. The rates! The Radisson is providing us with the rate of: $99 per night, for anything from a single through a triple! We know how fen are. You want to save your money on the more important things at the convention. The dealers room and the art show. This makes it a very inexpensive weekend for a group of fen to share a room for the weekend. Staying at the con is one of the best things about going away to cons. No commuting, and you have a place to put all the stuff you buy while at the con. No lugging bags of books around the con. Just drop them off in your room. Dont forget about the sleep number beds too! Cautions: The hotel has blocked out 40 rooms for us at the con rate. But the deadline is Oct. 25th, 2009!! and they sold-out early last year. If the toll free operator says the Astronomicon room block is sold out, Try the local number  (585) 475-1910  for a second opinion.
